Transformation Summit urges IT-BPM industry to “change by choice”
Companies have to change by choice so as not to be changed by the flow, according to the chairman of the Transformation Summit being held in Cebu today. The summit is an annual gathering of experts in the information technology and business process management (IT-BPM) field who discuss ways for Cebu companies to meet the changing demands of the global market. Wilfredo Sa-a, managing director of the Cebu IT-BPM Organization (CIB.O), which was responsible for organizing the summit, said the industry should continue to pursue higher-value services. He added that while this is considered a challenge, it is made easier by the very collaborative ecosystem in Cebu. The summit, which focused on the “Change by Choice” theme, featured different speakers who shared their expertise in automation and emerging technologies, future-proofing the workforce, options for companies to level up, and startups to devise more products and services, among other topics. There were also panel discussions on matters that impact the IT-BPM industry in Cebu, including choices that defined and will define Cebu.
