Outsourcing is commonly criticized as unethical, unfair, or worse. People say that an annual salary of $6,000-$12,000 is too low, but they need to realize that most of the global population earns less than this.

Giving people across emerging markets a way to tap into the global economy is an incredible opportunity. It provides meaningful work, an excellent salary, great working conditions, and an exciting career ladder.

It’s sometimes valuable to remind people what normal people might earn in the Philippines. It isn’t very much. And good jobs are hard to come by.
