The incontrovertible argument for a 3-day week
People are spending a lot of energy reimagining the future of work right now. With the Great Resignation, Quiet Quitting, Work-From-Anywhere, and calls for a 4-day week, it seems many are disenchanted about the good-old 5-day workweek.
I can’t help but wonder where all of this will end. Will it eventually become a 1-day week – or a 2-hour day?
Is the tail wagging the dog? After all, work wasn’t always meant to be fun. In fact, for most of humanity, work has been an absolute grind. That’s why people get paid to work. The payment is considered a fair exchange for the hours worked or the value provided by someone.
That’s kinda how the system works…
But I’m all about change. And I’m open to ideas.
I have an idea!
It seems that there are parts of society that want to work as little as possible, and others that are eager to work, find purpose in building a meaningful career, and are energized by long weeks.
There is no right or wrong—each to their own. But at the moment, there is very little choice. If you want a respectable job, career, and salary, you are forced into the 5-day week paradigm.
