Keeping employees is the biggest challenge of this pivotal moment in the workplace. In two years’ time terms like The Great Resignation, hybrid and remote work have been introduced and yet, another concept comes into the conversion–”stay interview.”

An interesting article on Venture Beat tackled the concept of Stay Interview. So what is a stay interview? The primary goal of this interview is to learn what will make employees stay. 

Li Yao, chief people officer at Offbeat Media Group suggests that digital-first companies conduct interviews with the goal of retaining employees and determine what exactly they are looking for.

Yao suggests these questions be asked:

“What work structure works best for you and your lifestyle?” 

“How does our current work environment foster your growth? How can we improve it?”

“What would you like to see from the company in terms of employee development and engagement?” 

Yao also suggests that companies utilize virtual and digital platforms to harness human connection within the company. “We’re seeing this come into play with major organizations tapping into the metaverse.” he says.

If companies are receptive to the idea of utilizing the power of tech and supplying their teams with headsets and software, it will allow people closer to you to sound more distinct where those who are further away sound further allows for more realistic connection and conversation. 

By allowing employees a space or experience in the virtual world, other opportunities are suddenly available as well.
