Retail companies that are hiring for cybersecurity positions rose to 43.8% in May 2022. This latest figure was higher than the 40.3% recorded a year ago and April 2022’s 42.6%.
Meanwhile, the rate of all job openings and postings that were linked to cybersecurity increased by 0.6% month-on-month as more companies are posting job advertisements for tech professionals.
This latest figure was the highest monthly figure recorded in the past year and is an increase compared to the 0.3% of newly advertised jobs that were linked to cybersecurity in the equivalent month a year ago.
According to data analytics and consulting company GlobalData, cybersecurity is a “key disruptive force” for companies in the coming years.
They added that organizations that are now investing in this industry are poised to be better prepared for the future business landscape and better equipped to survive unforeseen challenges.
This comes as a growing number of companies are accelerating their digital transformation to move their systems to the cloud and make their operations as “future-proof” as possible.
This rise also means that every industry is now clamoring for a digital move and more skilled tech professionals are needed in every field to make this shift successful.
On the other hand, retail companies currently hiring for cybersecurity jobs have a lower rate than the average for all companies within GlobalData’s job analytics database.
The average among all companies stood at 2.8% in May 2022.
