The Hungarian Outsourcing Association and Hungarian Central Statistical Office signed a cooperation agreement.

According to a news statement provided to the Budapest Business Journal, the Hungarian Service and Outsourcing Association (HOA) and the Hungarian Central Statistical Office (KSH) have signed a cooperation agreement to map the Hungarian service sector.

Monika Slomska, president of the Hungarian Service and Outsourcing Association (HOA), and Ron Kincses, deputy president of the KSH, signed the agreement.

The cooperation agreement aims to jointly establish a professional and technological platform for information exchange to allow future mapping of service center activities.

The professional organization and the statistical office will collaborate to get a better knowledge of the Hungarian service sector and identify the unique characteristics of its operational activities and conduct structural, geographical, and trend analysis.

According to the press release, the collaboration agreement also serves as a basis for future independent agreements between the KSH and the Hungarian Service and Outsourcing Association (HOA).

“The agreement with the KSH will allow for outstanding effective development, further strengthening the business services industry in the area, generally recognized as the Hungarian economy’s flagship,” Slomska stated.

Kincses believes that the cooperation between the KSH and the HOA is a crucial step toward a more detailed analysis of the characteristics of the Hungarian SSC sector and a professional analysis of the interrelationships.

“I am certain that the annual KSH data collection on the SSC sector, as well as the associated report on service center operations, will make a significant contribution to this,” Kincses added.

According to an industry study conducted by the Hungarian Service and Outsourcing Association, Hungary has over 205 regional and worldwide business service centers, employing over 74,000 people. These numbers are expected to rise significantly this year.

Some of these firms provide services ranging from finance, payroll, and network design to high-level engineering and business process automation to customers other than the parent corporation.

According to the organization, the industry is constantly evolving, with centers offering an ever-increasing added value.
