What is the Information Communication and Technology Association of Uganda?

The Information Communication and Technology Association of Uganda (ICTAU) is a professional organization dedicated to advancing the information and communication technology (ICT) sector in Uganda. 

It aims to promote the use and development of ICT in various sectors and support the interests of ICT professionals and businesses. ICTAU also contributes to the creation of a conducive environment for technological innovation and growth in Uganda. 

This association often engages in activities such as policy advocacy, professional development, networking events, and collaboration with other stakeholders to drive the growth and effective use of ICT in the country.

ICTAU objectives 

The Uganda ICT Association aims to:

1. Develop a strong brand proposition for Uganda’s ICT sector.

• Foster the creation of an ICT technology hub or park in Uganda.
• Promote and support the development of leading software and mobile applications for technological advancement.

2. Promote a competitive ICT industry in Uganda.

• Enhance the growth and competitiveness of the ICT sector through various initiatives and strategies.

3. Cultivate world-class ICT institutions in Uganda.

• Strengthen professionalism and excellence in Ugandan ICT institutions.
• Position the ICT Association as a global leader in innovation.
• Serve as a key partner in the governance and implementation of e-systems initiatives.
• Accelerate the development of ICT skills in secondary and tertiary institutions.
• Establish formal partnerships with stakeholders in the ICT sector.

4. Drive a national system of innovation.

• Launch and promote a national system of innovation to support technological progress and innovation in the country.

5. Expand ICT access and adoption.

• Actively work to increase ICT access and adoption across Uganda, aiming to bridge the digital divide and ensure widespread technology benefits.

Joining the Uganda ICT Association is a straightforward process tailored to accommodate students, professionals, and companies.

For professionals

• Curriculum vitae: Upload your CV in .pdf format.
• Passport-size photograph: Provide a passport-size photograph in .png or .jpg format.
• Membership payment proof: Submit proof of your membership payment in .png or .jpg format.

For companies

• Company logo: Upload your company logo in .png or .jpg format.
• Membership payment proof: Provide proof of payment for the membership.
• Contact person details: Include details for at least one contact person (first name, last name, email, and phone number). You may provide up to three contact persons.

For students

• Student ID: Provide a screenshot of your student ID in .png or .jpg format.
• Passport-size photograph: Submit a recent passport-size photograph in .png or .jpg format.
• Membership payment proof: Include proof of membership payment in .png or .jpg format.
